Bistrotters

We wanted to try this restaurant as it was given a high rating by both TripAdvisor and Zagat. As it was at a walking distance from where we stayed, we decided to walk down to the place for dinner. But the place was full, so we had to place our seats for lunch the next day. We were glad we did that, because on the next day,  although it was empty when we arrived at 12, by 12.30 PM, the place got packed!

The place is quite small and cramped with hardly 12 tables placed close to each other, but it seemed to live up to its reputation in terms of quality of food, going by the daily buzz. It is run by a young man named FranÇois Gallice, who personally served to all customers. They have a full course menu system, again written in French on a blackboard, which FranÇois kindly explained to us in English. For starters, we ordered what they called 'The Fine Pie' which was a vegetable pie and Fois Gras which was fattened duck liver. The pie was soft and well cooked but it was the fois gras that took the price. It was so soft and tender that it almost melted in our mouths. Truly authentic French food plated with finesse! For the main course, we ordered lamb and pork belly, accompanied with a glass of white wine. We were quite full that we decided to skip dessert. It is quite expensive for a bistro, with around 36Euros per person but we enjoyed our meal thoroughly.
